Acceptable Use Policy

ElyChat Acceptable Use Policy

Effective Date: September 24, 2026

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) forms part of the ElyChat Terms of Service.

You may use ElyChat only for lawful, responsible research, educational, scientific, and commercial purposes consistent with the Terms.

1. Biological Data Restrictions

ElyChat accepts bacterial and fungal sequence data only.

You may not upload human sequence data, data intentionally derived from human subjects, or files known to contain human-identifiable sequence content unless the human content has first been removed using an appropriate validated process.

You may not upload biological data that you do not have the legal or contractual right to submit and authorize Elytron to process under the Terms.

2. Harmful Biological Use

You may not use ElyChat to intentionally facilitate, enable, design, optimize, or operationalize biological harm.

Prohibited uses include attempts to use the Service to materially increase the harmful capabilities of biological agents, including by increasing pathogenicity, virulence, toxicity, transmissibility, host range, environmental persistence, resistance to treatment, resistance to containment, or ability to evade detection, surveillance, diagnosis, or countermeasures.

You may not use the Service to develop or assist biological weapons, toxins, malicious delivery systems, or other intentionally harmful biological applications.

Legitimate defensive, diagnostic, environmental, agricultural, industrial, and basic scientific research remains subject to all other provisions of the Terms and applicable law.

3. Illegal or Unauthorized Use

You may not use the Service to:

  • violate any applicable law, regulation, sanctions program, court order, permit, or contractual obligation;
  • infringe intellectual-property, privacy, confidentiality, trade-secret, or other rights;
  • access, probe, scan, test, disrupt, or compromise systems or data without authorization;
  • distribute malware, malicious code, or harmful payloads;
  • circumvent rate limits, account restrictions, security controls, or technical safeguards;
  • scrape or extract the Service at scale except through authorized interfaces;
  • impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation or authority; or
  • use the Service in a manner that materially interferes with other users or Elytron infrastructure.

4. Scientific and Professional Integrity

You must not knowingly represent ElyChat Outputs as experimentally validated, clinically validated, regulator-approved, or independently verified when they are not.

You are responsible for appropriate scientific review, validation, biosafety procedures, and compliance applicable to your work.

5. Enforcement

Elytron may investigate suspected violations and may block content, limit functionality, suspend processing, suspend accounts, terminate accounts, preserve relevant records, or report conduct to appropriate authorities where permitted or required by law.

Elytron may update this AUP as the Service, scientific capabilities, legal requirements, or security risks evolve.
